Second covid death in as many days at GWH

The latest report from NHS England has revealed that a death from coronavirus has been reported at Great Western Hospital in the last 24 hours. It is the second such death to be reported at the hospital in as many days and comes four days after the hospital reported two covid deaths. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the outbreak is 134. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.

As of 4pm today there have been 39 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total has risen to 1,946 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the last seven days there have been 262 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there have been 69 new cases in the past 24 hours, meaning the number of people who have tested positive in Wiltshire is 2,858. This means that in the last seven days there have been 488 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. These figures are split by local authority. Please note that these new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.

As of 9am on 27 October, 917,575 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This is a rise of 22,885 positive tests in the last 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 26 October, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 45,365 have died across all settings. This is an increase of 367.
