According to the data released today at 4pm under new reporting rules including possible re-infections of the same person, there were 267 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in Swindon in the last 24 hours, meaning the total rose to 70,243 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,069 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 662 new cases in the same period, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 143,123. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 5,352 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 1 April, 21,216,874 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 69,449 in 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 31 March, and in relation to the same period, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 165,570 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 191.
