The latest report from NHS England has revealed that no further deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital. It has been four days day since the last such death was reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak remains at 419. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 31 January.
According to the data released today at 5.10pm under new reporting rules including possible re-infections of the same person, there were 511 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 56,401 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 5,110 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 1,067 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 107,633. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 9,537 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 1 February, 17,428,345 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 112,458 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 31 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 156,875 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 219.
