The latest report from NHS England has revealed that a further death from covid has been reported at Great Western Hospital. It has been six days since the last such death was reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak has risen to 358. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 368 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 25,431 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,086 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 636 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 46,292. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 4,273 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 19 October, 8,541,192 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 43,738 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 18 October, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 138,852 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 223.
