The latest report from NHS England has revealed that no further deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital. It has been four days since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak remains at 416. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 23 January.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 403 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 50,845 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,828 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 695 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 97,302. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 4,805 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 24 January, 15,953,685 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 88,447 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 23 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 153,916 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 56.
