The latest report from NHS England has revealed that no further deaths from covid have been reported at Great Western Hospital. It has been five days since the last such deaths were reported. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the start of the outbreak remains at 416. These figures are correct up to 4pm on 24 January.
According to the data released today at 4pm, there were 446 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 51,291 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,922 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 794 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 98,096. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 4,975 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire.
As of 9am on 25 January, 16,047,716 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 94,326 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
As of 5pm on 24 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 154,356 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 439.
