January 15 and 16 weekend update: Total of 628 new Swindon covid cases

As of 14 May last year, local details of covid deaths and related data are published every weekday rather than every day, and not on Bank Holidays. The next update regarding Great Western Hospital will therefore appear later today, Monday 17 January, and its official total remains at 411.

According to the data released on Saturday, 15 January, there were 352 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 47,386 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 4,290 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 532 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 91,450. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 4,290 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
According to the data released on Sunday, 16 January, there were 276 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 47,662 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,540 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 451 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 91,901. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 3,978 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
 
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
 

As of 9am on 15 January, 15,147,120 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 81,713 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 9am on 16 January, 15,217,280 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 70,924 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 14 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 151,899 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 287.

As of 5pm on 15 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 151,987 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 88.
