October 2 and 3 weekend update: Total of 119 new Swindon covid cases

As of 14 May, local details of covid deaths and related data are published every weekday rather than every day. The next update regarding Great Western Hospital will therefore appear later today, Monday, 4 October, and its official total remains at 351.

According to the data released on Saturday, 2 October, there were 33 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 22,547 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 960 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 257 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 39,243. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 2,054 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
According to the data released on Sunday, 3 October, there were 86 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 22,633 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 931 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 227 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 39,470. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 1,998 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
 

As of 9am on 2 October, 7,871,014 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 30,301 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 9am on 3 October, 7,900,680 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 30,439 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 1 October, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 136,910 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 121.

As of 5pm on 2 October, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 136,953 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 43.
