January 22 and 23 weekend update: Total of 696 new Swindon covid cases

As of 14 May last year, local details of covid deaths and related data are published every weekday rather than every day, and not on Bank Holidays. The next update regarding Great Western Hospital will therefore appear later today, Monday 24 January, and its official total remains at 416.

According to the data released on Saturday, 22 January, there were 384 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 50,130 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2,744 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 569 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 95,926. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 4,476 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
According to the data released on Sunday, 23 January, there were 312 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the previous 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total rose to 50,442 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the previous seven days there were 2.780 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there had been 681 new cases in the previous 24 hours, meaning the number of people who had tested positive in Wiltshire was 96,607. This meant that in the previous seven days there had been been 4,706 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. 
 
 
All figures are split by local authority. Please note that new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.
 

As of 9am on 22 January, 15,784,488 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 76,807 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 9am on 23 January, 15,859,288 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This was a rise of 74,799 positive tests in the past 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 21 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 153,787 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 297.

As of 5pm on 22 January, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 153,862 had died across all settings. This was an increase of 75.
