Cyclist suffered possibly life-changing injuries in Swindon collision

Swindon Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision on Bridge End Road on Friday night - 10 June.

A force spokesperson said: "A 30-year-old man, who was riding a pedal cycle, sustained potentially life changing injuries after being struck by a van at about 10.30pm outside the BP Garage.

"The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

"Following a public appeal, we located and arrested a suspect shortly afterwards on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"He was further arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and is currently in police custody."

Witnesses to the collision and anyone who may have dash cam footage are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team at Headquarters on 01225 694597, quoting Log number 409.
