A man has been disqualified from driving following a collision in Dorcan, Swindon.

Police were called to the scene of a crash in Dorcan Way at approximately 5.30pm on 14 July

A Volkswagen Golf and a Harley Davidson motorcycle were involved.

Clifford Reynolds, 60, of Haven Close, Stratton St Margaret, was riding the motorcycle at the time of the collision and provided a roadside breath test which showed he was over the legal limit.

He was arrested and charged with drink driving and given a 20-month disqualification when he appeared in court this week.

He was also fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and an £80 surcharge.

PC Luke Hobbs, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: "Consuming alcohol before driving or riding a motorcycle will seriously impact on your ability to stay safe on the roads. You are putting yourself and other road users at risk - it is extremely fortunate that nobody was injured during this collision.”

The force say those who suspect somebody of drink driving should call the police on 101.
