A programme of scheduled nightly closures of Swindon's Drakes Way has begun.
The moved follows the announcement by Swindon Borough Council that its contractors had completed resurfacing work on Queens Drive and the Drakes roundabout to improve the road for motorists.
Explaining the Drakes Way closures, a spokesperson said: "The road will be closed from 7pm to 6am on week days while the work takes place. Diversions are in place and access for residents and businesses will be maintained.
"The resurfacing is expected to be completed on Wednesday, 2 April but is subject to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances."
Following the council's Cabinet approving the Local Transport Implementation Plan for 2025/26, a number of minor and major roads have been prioritised for repair as the council works through a backlog of deteriorating road surfaces.
The spokesperson added: "We’d like to thank residents, motorists and businesses for their patience while the work takes place. Find out more about roadworks in your area."
