Swindon Borough Council is strengthening its efforts to reduce drug-related harm by improving the gathering and sharing of local intelligence on substances in circulation.
A new online Local Drug Information System reporting tool, launched by the council's Public Health team, allows professionals and the public to quickly and anonymously report:
- unexpected or concerning effects
- suspected adulteration
- unusual trends or patterns
A council spokesperson said: "All reports are reviewed, with rapid alerts issued where needed to help protect those most at risk.
"This tool supports faster information sharing, strengthens harm reduction, and helps reduce preventable drug-related deaths in Swindon."
