Pedestrian dies following road traffic accident in West Swindon

A man has sadly died following a collision with a car in West Swindon yesterday evening (30/06).

At approximately 5.30pm Police responded to a road traffic collision on Tewkesbury Way between the Mannington Roundabout and the Toothill Roundabout, which involved a pedestrian and a Mini.

A police spokesperson said: "It is with sadness that we report that a 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time."

The road was closed for several hours and reopened shortly before midnight and the police investigation continues.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
