Swindon’s Bus Company is once again marking Father’s Day by offering the town’s youngsters the chance to take their dads on the bus for free.
The local bus operator will provide complimentary travel for fathers on Sunday 16 June - as long as they are accompanied by a child buying a dayrider ticket.
“Choosing a gift for Father’s Day can prove to be a bit of a challenge for many - so we thought we’d step in with a suggestion,” said Nikki Honer, Swindon’s Bus Company head of communications.
“We’re sure fathers across the area would like nothing better than to spend their special day with their off-spring - so what better way to do that than to take a day trip on us?
“There are plenty of great places to visit here - and this is an excellent opportunity to leave the car at home, relax and take an adventure together. A chance for kids to return the favour and take on the role of ‘dad’s taxi’ - even if it’s just for one day.”
Every child buying a dayrider ticket for a Swindon’s Bus Company journey during Father’s Day will be able to take dad for free.
Those who aren’t celebrating Father’s Day can still enjoy a great day out in the region, with any single bus journey costing just £2. This is thanks to the fare cap - part of the Government’s Help for Households initiative - which is still in place.
