The devotion of two foster carers is being highlighted by Swindon Borough Council as it aims to recruit more.

Donna and Tim have been foster carers for 31 years and, to celebrate this achievement, they have been sharing their story to promote ‘Foster Care Fortnight’.

The two foster parent and child cases, which is when foster carers look after both baby and parent, helping new parents learn how to take care of their child so they both remain together.

They said: “It is very rewarding to be able to have a parent and child in your own home and support them to be the best they can.

“There is nothing better than seeing a parent develop and move on successfully with their child. They’re all very different in so many ways, but are also the same, as they are all parents wanting to do the best for their children.”
