Wiltshire Police are investigating an assault that happened last Friday and would like to identify a person who could be a key witness.
At approximately 6.40pm on March 8, a 30-year-old man was walking from the town centre when he was approached by a group of five men in Emlyn Square.
The group demanded the man hand over his wallet and phone – he refused and was punched several times but, fortunately, only sustained minor injuries.
The group made off without the victim’s personal items.
PC Corrina Wiltshire said: “The group of men were threatening towards the man during the incident, which happened not far from The Glue Pot.
“We believe there was a witness to this incident and we would be really keen to speak to them as they may be able to help us identify those involved.
“Fortunately, the victim wasn’t seriously injured but he was left shaken up by what happened.”
