Great Western Hospital has issued advice for those needing care over the bank holiday weekend.

The site team would like to remind residents to use NHS 111 online in the first instance over the bank holiday weekend.

The site team work to manage the emergency and elective pathways which is particularly important during the busiest periods.

Rachel Almond, Matron for Clinical Operations and Patient Flow said: "Our team are here to ensure that staff across the Trust are supported to deliver outstanding care for our patients.

"We manage flow through our services, ensuring that local people can get the treatment they need.

"People across Swindon and Wiltshire can help us by making sure they prioritise self-care for minor illness and injury and seeking advice from NHS 111 online in the first instance.

"This is particularly important now, as our teams are often especially busy during a bank holiday weekend, as well as in the days that follow."
