From next week, GWH will be changing its rules and requirements around PCR tests and isolation, for those undergoing operations.

From Monday, 27 June, patients booked in for an operation at GWH will no longer need to come to hospital for a PCR test or isolate for three days in advance of the surgery.

Instead, patients will be asked to order a lateral flow test from the Government portal, take a lateral flow three days before and on the day of the operation and report all results through the portal.

GWH staff say patients should minimise social contact during the three days.

All patients booked in for an operation will also receive a letter with clear instructions about the new process.
