Great Western Hospital has announced that they are pleased to be able to welcome back visitors to the hospital, but some important restrictions are still needed to reduce the risk of spreading infection.
A GWH spokesperson said "The case rate in Swindon remains slightly higher than the national average, and so we remain cautious and ask that visits are limited to one hour per day, by a close family contact or someone important to them. This should be someone from within the household 'bubble' wherever possible.
"We ask for your support with meticulous infection control practices while visiting, to help us reduce the possibility of the spread of infection. Please make sure you wash your hands regularly, wear a mask and ensure you are socially distanced.
"We still support video calls to our patients and would still advise you to access this option if possible."
