South Swindon Labour Parliamentary Candidate Heidi Alexander has revealed the dates of her next meet and greet sessions with residents across the constituency.
This follows a series of 'Big Conversation' and 'Pint and Politics' events last month, which were attended by more than 150 people.
The newly-announced dates are:
- Saturday 9 March, 3.30-4.30pm, Eastcott Community Centre, Savernake Street
- Saturday 30 March 11am-noon, Lawn Community Centre, Guildford Avenue
These will be informal events open to everyone who lives in the Swindon South constituency. Attendees will be able to hear from Heidi Alexander, meet local borough and parish councillors and ask any questions they may have.
Heidi Alexander said: “Since moving back home to Swindon a few years ago, I have knocked on thousands of doors, but I am very conscious that we don’t always get everyone in and I would like to give everyone an opportunity to meet with me before the next General Election.
“When I was an MP in South East London, I made sure that I was available all year round. If I am privileged enough to be elected to serve the town where I was born and grew up, I would work on the town’s behalf 52 weeks a year.
"I would be a full-time MP - no second jobs outside of Parliament. And I would make it my mission to address the issues of top concern to local people - the cost of living, the state of the town centre, the need for better paid local jobs, the NHS, crime and affordable housing.
"As a candidate, I really want to hear what people’s priorities are. Everyone is welcome to attend these events. I'll bring the biscuits if you bring the questions!"
