The Haydon Wick Parish Council have released details about the winning individuals of this year's Haydon Wick Heroes civic award scheme.
The ‘Haydon Wick Heroes’ civic award scheme has been running for the last three years and allows residents to vote for 'those that make the parish a lovely place to live.'
This year, the winners of the Haydon Wick Heroes Awards 2023 are as follows:
- Volunteer of the Year - Rachael Maslin, for her outstanding voluntary work with Absolutely Shine Post Natal Depression (PND) Support Swindon
- Young Achiever - Kaylee Weaving, who volunteered to help with painting the panels on play equipment which was being refurbished in a local play area.
- Community Group of the Year - Haydon Wick Memory Café for the dedicated support that goes into running the cafes held twice monthly at the Haydon Wick Bowls Club.
A spokesperson for the parish council said: "We have a wonderful, dedicated and valued group of volunteers that we are proud to work alongside of. We want to take the opportunity to celebrate the positives, and to recognise those who deserve a thank-you from their community."
The award winners received a certificate, a box of heroes and prize at the recent Annual Parish Council Meeting.
