The British Medical Association has issued notice that junior doctors will strike from Thursday 27 June until Tuesday 2 July.

The strike will begin and and at 7am on the respective days.

GWH says it will deliver as much safe patient care as possible during this period.

Before, during and after the strike, hospital bosses are asking that the public use local health services wisely.

Urgent and emergency care services will remain open, but in the first instance people are asked to use NHS 111 online if unsure what to do. As ever, they should use 999 in an emergency.

To maintain safe patient care during the industrial action, it will be necessary to cancel some planned appointments, treatments, and procedures.

GWH will contact everyone affected directly, and patients should continue to attend the hospital unless advised otherwise.

Some on-the-day cancellations may be necessary, but the hospital will aim to minimise these where possible.
