UTC Swindon in the Railway Village was the venue for a wide-ranging discussion of the future of Swindon's architectural heritage.
All were welcome at the gathering, organised by Swindon Borough Council, which wanted to gauge public opinion as to how the town's most precious buildings might best be preserved.
The meeting was chaired by Bob Wright of the Swindon Heritage Preservation Trust, the organisation formerly the Mechanics Institution Trust.
A wide ranging discussion yielded several suggestions as to how the future of the structures could be safeguarded.
Some participants noted, for example, that businesses of all sizes potentially had a role to play, while other suggestions included encouraging more involvement from the general public.
Others highlighted examples of heritage building preservation and use in other towns and wondered whether Swindon might follow suit.
