Housebuilders Barratt Homes Bristol and Barratt David Wilson Homes South West have received the maximum 5-star rating in the new Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey.
It’s the 16th consecutive year Barratt Homes Bristol and Barratt David Wilson Homes South West have achieved the top 5-star rating with no other housebuilder coming close to matching the record.
To mark the achievement parent company Barratt Redrow is donating £25,000 to the Construction Youth Trust to help more young people have careers in construction and the built environment.
The Wichelstowe development in Swindon, for which the organisations are best known in the town, is a joint project by Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Swindon Borough Council to create a vibrant community in Swindon.
When complete, it will provide much-needed homes alongside schools, community facilities, and open spaces.
The HBF New Homes Survey is one of the largest surveys of its type in the country, with around 50,000 people taking part who have recently bought a new build home. The simple 1–5-star rating system was developed to give customers an easy to view ranking of which housebuilders have the most satisfied customers.
The number of stars received is based on customer responses to the question “would you recommend your builder to a friend”? For the housebuilders to achieve a 5-star rating, means over 90% of theircustomers would recommend homes to a friend.
Andrea Pilgrim, sales director for Barratt Homes Bristol, said: “Being a 5-star housebuilder is a testament to our commitment to our customers, going above and beyond to ensure they love their new home. We achieve this by building to the highest standards and providing exceptional aftercare.”
Sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes Louise Ware added: “There’s no better recommendation than one from a happy buyer, which is why we take great pride in knowing that so many of our customers would confidently recommend our homes to others.
"It reflects not only the quality of the homes we build but also the care and dedication we put into every step of the journey, from the first enquiry to long after they’ve moved in."
Neil Jefferson, Chief Executive of the Home Builders Federation, concluded: “This year’s survey results highlight the industry’s absolute commitment to delivering high levels of customer service, and compare favourably to satisfaction levels seen in any other sectors or products.
"Customers are the ultimate judges of performance and so receiving such high scores based on their feedback alone is a significant achievement. These results are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire home-building workforce, from on-site teams to the boardroom."
The new rating follows Barratt David Wilson Homes’ success at the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. The competition is known as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, with over 11,000 site managers being entered.
Last year the housebuilders’ site managers won 89 Pride in the Job Quality Awards, more than any other housebuilder for a record 20 years in a row.
