Community Defibrillator Installed at Jovial Monk after fundraising

Following six months of fund raising, the Ridge Coffee Club,which meets monthly at the Jovial Monk, Highdown Way, North Swindon have purchased a community defibrillator.

The defibrillator was installed on 5 February on the wall of the Jovial Monk.

Lyn Bayliss and Sue MacDonald, co founders of the club thanked the generous donations, hard work of club members and the support of Debbie, the pub landlady enabling the club to achieve its goal.

Justin Tomlinson will officially unveil the defibrillator on 8th March at 11am.

The club have organised cake stalls, a Christmas Fayre and monthly quiz nights. All these events were held at the Jovial Monk.

The club will continue to raise funds for the maintenance of the defibrillator and their new charity, Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The monthly quiz nights will continue and there will be a table top sale on 2 March and a Spring Fayre on 25 May, all at the Jovial Monk.

Some of the group recently visited the Air Ambulance headquarters at Semington where they learnt it costs approximately £2,500 per mission.
