Wiltshire Police are investigating a spate of lead thefts from houses in the North Swindon area.

In the early hours of November 22, lead was forcefully removed from porches at a number of houses in Vaughan Williams Way, Arnold Street and Frankel Avenue in Redhouse.

PC Teresa Herbert said: “We believe at least seven houses have been targeted but there could potentially be others who have not reported the incident to police.

“We’ve been conducting patrols in the area and have spoken with residents who report being woken by suspicious noises from around 1.30am onwards on November 22.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or footage from doorbells which could assist our enquiries.”

Those with information are being asked to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54210113812.

Alternatively, members of the public can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
