Residents are being asked to participate in a public consultation regarding new polling districts and polling places.

New polling districts and polling places are required after the recent Local Government Boundary Review of Swindon to ensure that all electors within the Borough of Swindon have such reasonable facilities for voting as are practicable and to ensure that polling places are accessible to all electors, including those with special needs.

A spokesperson said: “Earlier this year, the Local Government Boundary Commission for England decided that Swindon would retain 57 councillors but that new wards were needed to match the Borough’s growing population.

“As a result, the Council now has to create new polling districts. This means where you vote may change, and we’re now asking you to let us know where you think your local polling place should be.”

A consultation will take place between Monday, 28 April 2025 and Sunday, 8 June 2025 and your views are sought.
