The Longevity Games is takes fitness Into the heart of Swindon's communities with the launch of free training sessions.

The new community fitness initiative launches at Buckhurst Basketball Court on Tuesday 3 November, with plans to expand across Swindon.
The Longevity Games is a Swindon-based community interest company founded by Tim Howe, with the ambition of making Swindon the fittest town in the country.
Through inclusive fitness events and free community training, the organisation encourages people of different ages and abilities to invest in their long-term physical and mental wellbeing.
The new sessions will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 7pm, completely free of charge, giving people in the local community an opportunity to improve their fitness, build confidence, make new friends and invest in their long-term health.
Founder Tim Howe said: "We all know we should be doing more to look after ourselves, but sometimes taking that first step is the hardest part.
"Life is tough for many people right now. Financial pressures, work, family responsibilities and the challenges of everyday life can make looking after ourselves feel like the last priority.
"But what if we could change that? What if we could bring people together twice a week, completely free of charge, to get moving, have a laugh, support one another and go home feeling better than when they arrived?
"Exercise isn't just about stronger muscles or better fitness. It's about our mental health, our confidence, our friendships and our future independence.
"Those feel-good endorphins, that sense of achievement and the opportunity to connect with other people can make such a difference.
"I want people to reach their 60s, 70s and 80s still being able to enjoy life, move freely and remain independent for as long as possible. But we need to start investing in ourselves today.
"And nobody should feel they have to do that alone."
The Longevity Games has grown into a community fitness movement built around one simple belief: fitness isn't just about how we look or perform today. It's about the quality of life we can enjoy tomorrow.
The new Longevity Community Training initiative aims to take that message directly into Swindon's neighbourhoods, making exercise accessible, welcoming and supportive for people who might otherwise struggle to take that first step.
The Buckhurst sessions will offer a welcoming environment where people can exercise at their own ability, regardless of their current fitness level.
There is no competition, no pressure to keep up with anyone else and no expectation that participants need to be fit before joining.
The focus is on movement, functional strength, confidence, connection and creating healthy habits that last.
The Longevity Games CIC plans to use the Buckhurst launch as the first step towards establishing further free community training groups in other areas of Swindon.
Tim added: "If we're serious about improving the health of Swindon, we have to start at grassroots level.
"We can't just tell people to become more active. We need to create opportunities, remove barriers and give people the support to make it happen.
"Imagine the difference we could make if communities across Swindon started coming together, getting fitter, feeling happier and looking after one another.
"We might not be able to change everything that's happening in the world, but we can do something positive right here in our own town.
"This is about giving something back, doing some good and building a healthier, happier Swindon together.
"And we're only just getting started."
