Man charged with Manchester Road murder

Indogan Erdogan, 31, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. Victim named as 27-year-old Fatih Zengi. Community thanked for their ongoing support.

Indogan Erdogan, 31, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article following the death of a man in Swindon. 

Officers were called to Manchester Road on Wednesday (02/07), following a report of a seriously injured man requiring assistance. 

Sadly, 27-year-old Fatih Zengi died shortly afterwards. 

Erdogan has been remanded in custody to appear before court tomorrow. 

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker, who is leading the investigation, said: “On behalf of Wiltshire Police, I would offer condolences to the family of Fatih Zengi as they come to terms with their loss.

“I would also like to thank the local community for their patience and support during this investigation.

"There will continue to be further police presence over the coming days in support of the ongoing investigation and for community reassurance.”
