Swindon Borough Council release information about the progress of the work on the Westmead and Withymead roundabouts.
Completion is due for September, with aims to fully open Mead Way by this point.
The council have shared a list of all the work completed so far:
- Work to replace the safety barrier on the bridge, and waterproofing under the new lane has started.
- The utility companies have begun work to move the utilities under the new northbound lane. This needs to be doen in a sequenced approach as several pipes and cables are currently stacked on top of each other.
- The contractir is continuing to build the new northbound lane from Westmead roundabout to the Withymead roundabout with new kerbs starting to be laid.
- The extensive drainage work to connect phase two to phase one (from Meads' roundabout to Westmead roundabout) and the stream running through the subway is continuing, with the footpath that was previously removed, beginning to be reinstated.
