Help is at hand for children who struggle with maths - and parents who struggle to help them.
Swindon Borough Council's Multiply courses are designed to help people feel confident with maths.
A spokesperson said: "If you feel anxious when thinking about numbers, or regularly say you are rubbish at maths, you are not alone.
"Multiply aims to support eligible adults who do not currently have Level 2 GCSE maths at grade 4 or above, previously known as a C grade or an O Level." The free courses and support focus on practical maths skills including:
- Building basic numeracy skill
- Reducing maths anxiety and increasing confidence
- Work related maths skills
- Helping your child with maths
- Bite-sized practical solutions to budgeting and cost saving
Those eligible for the course, a person must:
- Be over 19 years old and live or work in Swindon
- Have lived in the UK or EU for at least the last three years, or,
- Be a refugee
- Be an asylum seeker who has lived in the UK for at least 6 months
- Be a Homes or Families for Ukraine visa holder
- Be an Afghan ARAP or ARAC visa holder
- Not already hold a maths qualification at Level 2 (GCSE A-C/Grade 4 and above)
