Fire crews were called out this evening to what was believed to be a roof blaze above the building housing Tree Night Club, Anytime Fitness and Subway.

Eight fire engines and a turntable ladder were used by firefighters, with some crews coming from Oxfordshire, to tackle the fire.

The entire area around Britannia Place Car Park has been sealed off whilst the fire crews make sure the area and building is safe.

A crew in a cherry picker are still apparently damping down and checking on the interior of the roof space above Anytime Fitness.

The police were present to assist in cordoning off the area and keeping spectators out of danger.

There has not yet been any word as to whether anybody has been hurt or how the fire began.
