The historic GWR signs have been removed from the Pattern Church turntable, and members of the organisation are looking for information.

The Pattern Church team are currently working with English Heritage and others to preserve the turntable, which is the last one in Swindon.

The GWR signs that were displayed on the turntable have been taken, and the team have made a public appeal on social media to get them returned.

A spokesperson for Pattern Church said: "Part of how we serve our town is through playing our part in restoring Swindon’s rich heritage. We would love to get the signs back!

"If you have them or have any information about where the signs might be, please get in touch with us or the police."

The Pattern Church group meet up at the converted GWR Pattern Store twice every Sunday - at 10am and 6pm.

A planning application was lodged with Swindon Borough Council back in 2019 to transform the Grade II listed building into a place of worship.

It was previously home to Bottelino's Italian Restuarant.

The 498msq lower ground floor now houses a worship area, with the 390sqm ground floor area now being used as a café, meeting space and an office.

More information about Pattern Church can be found on its website at patternchurch.org or by emailing [email protected].
