West Swindon Parish Council has introduced a new Two-Minute Litter Picking Board at Peatmoor Lake.

Placed in support of the Great British Spring Clean, it is aimed at encouraging local residents to take a short moment to help keep the area clean.

The initiative aims to reduce litter and promote community pride in the much-loved walking spot.

The board provides litter pickers and bags for anyone to use, making it easy for visitors to do a quick clean-up as part of their walk, and the parish council hopes that small efforts from many people will make a big difference in maintaining Peatmoor Lake’s natural beauty.

West Swindon Parish Council Chair Cllr Rose Llewellyn, said: "Peatmoor Lake is a fantastic local spot that so many people enjoy.

"We hope this initiative will encourage residents to take a couple of minutes to pick up litter and help keep it looking its best. A little input from everyone can have a big impact.

"We have another board that will pop up in places across the Parish where residents would like to use it.  This week it will be at Shaw Ridge play area.

"If the initiative proves successful, the Parish Council will introduce boards at other appropriate locations across West Swindon.”
