Cyclists and pedestrians can now cross the eastern end of Fleming Way (opposite the Leonardo Hotel) as work progresses towards a late summer completion.

Previously, those using this end of the road had to use a temporary path, which also meant closing the end of the bus lane on Princes Street.

The new walkway will give a prime view of the scheme, showcasing the new cycle lanes, bus shelters and more than 180 trees and thousands of shrubs that have been planted and started to bloom.

The new greenery will help enhance the environment, support local wildlife, and with some of the trees and bushes also being planted in The Parade and other public realm areas, make the walk between the town centre and bus and train stations a lot more pleasant.
