The team organising this year's Swindon & Wiltshire Pride promise a jam-packed day for all the family when the event returns on 10 August.
Along with a lineup that includes The Cheeky Girls, Cheryl from Canada’s Drag Race: Canada v The World, West End Star Aimie Atkinson and Taylor Swift tribute act Katy Ellis, Swindon & Wiltshire Pride will be offering up a feast with culinary delights on offer to fuel the anticipated celebrations in GWR Park.
The free-to-attend event will include a wide range of food and drink offerings, both sweet and savoury, including Chinese street food, sausage rolls, pastries and pies, mac-n-cheese, vegan roast dinners and festival favourite burgers.
Those with a sweet tooth can look forward to ice cream, milkshakes, cupcakes, brownies and Pride special bakes from GlamoRose Cakes and even a vegan Italian patisserie stall.
Marketplace Manager James Fraser said: “Diversity is at the heart of everything we do, and that extends to our food and drink options with vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.
"People can expect to find an extensive range, with our vendors a combination of LGBTQIA friendly and local traders.
“Our marketplace is always a popular part of Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, and this year we have double the number of stalls we had in 2023.
"As well as our expanded food and drink offerings, we have over 75 other stalls organised into four zones: Shopping & Businesses, Community & Organisations, Health & Support Services, and the Youth Zone, together with our Pride Sponsors and Partners, who help ensure the event remains free-to-attend.”
Out of the Can, Swindon’s LGBTQ+ youth group, will be hosting free art activities in the Youth Zone with No Added Sugar, along with a dedicated youth chillout beanbag garden.
The event will also feature fairground rides, and anybody who has attended over the last few years will be familiar with the circus tent packed full of entertainment for all ages. Fandangos will be bringing the fun to the popular Family Circus Zone once again this year. The Swindon-based company will also be providing a Pride bar, with every purchase on the day supporting the event in 2025.
Shoppers at the Pride Hub in Regent Circus will be familiar with the colour that greets them as they walk into the volunteer-run shop open throughout the year, with flags, mugs, keyrings, shoelaces and more, and several items available in a range of the identity flags.
Those looking to dress the part on Pride day will be able to find a big selection of the vibrant range at the official Pride Merchandise stall, with all money raised going towards supporting the community throughout the year.
