Swindon's Hindu community celebrated their first Rath Yatra or chariot parade.

The parade is of great cultural and religious significance, and hundreds of people gathered in town centre to participate in a procession which included pulling a colourful chariot of deities.
The procession started at Swindon Hindu Centre in Theatre Square and passed through town centre before ending at Regent Circus.
People danced and sang during the procession and many local people joined in with the singing and dancing.
The celebration was organised by Swindon Hindu Centre. Volunteers worked hard to for months to plan the procession and build the 12 feet chariot.
The original Rath Yatra festival is celebrated in eastern India.
