South Swindon MP Sir Robert Buckland cut a ribbon to officially open the new West Swindon Post Office earlier today - 24 November.
Sir Robert and local councillor Suresh Gattapur have campaigned strongly for a replacement, and the opening of the new branch follows a public consultation by the Post Office, which asked people to list the facilities they most wished to see.
Before cutting the ribbon, Sir Robert said: "I'm really pleased to be here today at West Swindon Centre to officially open the West Swindon Post Office.
"This has been months of hard work by the team, who are all with us today, who made this possible, and I'm really grateful to Suresh Gattapur, local councillor, who worked with me to press the Post Office to make sure that we had this important facility here in the heart of West Swindon and serving local residents.
"I'm really excited to see an improved facility, offering a range of services, and here's to a successful future for West Swindon Post Office, which I declare officially open."
