Road closures: nine for Swindon drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Swindon will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A419, from 8pm October 9 to 6am October 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A419 northbound, from Commonhead, junction to A420, junction carriageway closure.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M4, from 7am October 16 to 5pm October 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 15 to 16 - hard shoulder closures for electrical works.

• A419, from 8pm October 16 to 6am December 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A419 northbound, Turnpike, junction Lane one closure leading to exit and entry slip road closure for Highway improvement works.

• M4, from 9pm October 17 to 5am October 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 15 to junction 16 lane closure for electrical works.

• M4, from 8pm October 18 to 6am October 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 14 to junction 15, Lane closures for technology work.

• M4, from 9pm October 18 to 5am October 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 15 to 16 lane closure for electrical works.

• A419, from 8pm October 20 to 6am October 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A419 northbound, from Commonhead, junction to A420, junction carriageway closure.

• A419, from 8pm October 21 to 6am October 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A419 northbound, from Commonhead, junction to A420, junction carriageway closure.

• A419, from 8pm October 24 to 6am October 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A419 northbound, Commonhead, junction to A420 junction, Full carriageway closure for drainage works.

 

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
