Cllr Chris Watts, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for the Environment and Transport, said: “In order to build a better Swindon and help keep drivers moving, we need to make sure that our roads are in the best condition they can be with our limited resources.
“We’ll be undertaking more work to improve road surfaces throughout the year, but I’m glad we can get out of the blocks quickly in 2025 and start doing this important maintenance.”
The work is part of a programme that aims to fix deteriorating road surfaces across the borough. It is due to be completed within the set times but is subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Access will be maintained for local businesses and residents and diversions will be in place for other motorists where necessary.
People can keep up to date with the latest roadworks and diversions by searching ‘roadworks’ on the council's website.
