Major work at Vicarage Road and St Mary’s roundabout in Rodbourne Cheney has begun today.
The work will extend the life of the road and improve the surface for users.
Temporary road closures are in place, which will affect local residents and motorists who regularly use the route. Thank you for your patience while the work is carried out.
The improvements will be carried out in two phases:
The first phase will begin today, 11 October, with temporary traffic lights in place between St Mary’s roundabout and the bend where Cheney Manor Road meets Vicarage Road, for one week between 8am and 6pm, as concrete repairs are made to the base of Vicarage Road
The second phase will start next Monday, 18 October, for two weeks and will involve patching and resurfacing on Vicarage Road and St Mary’s Roundabout with a temporary road closure in place. Road closure signs will be placed on the approach roads to St Mary’s roundabout with traffic diverted through Cheney Manor industrial estate and Moredon Road. Traffic will also be unable to access the junction from Beech Avenue. Diversion signs will be in place and access will be maintained for local residents who live in the area.
Progress on both phases is dependent on the condition of the road sub base and weather conditions.
