This year, the annual Rotary Junior Schools Quiz event was held at the Memorial Hall in Royal Wootton Bassett.
Six teams from local primary schoolsin Swindon pitted their knowledge against one another for 10 rounds in this year's Junior Schools Quiz, hosted by the Royal Wootton Bassett & District Rotary Club.
Each round consisted of 10 questions on subjects ranging from History & Science, through to Sport & Entertainment.
Each quiz team were also given a 'joker' to tactically play on one of the pre-selected rounds which would double their score.
All of the teams were said to have been fully engaged, and were keenly paying attention to quizmaster Allison.
A spokesperson from the Rotary club said: "The competitiveness and good spirit shown by all teams was impressive. After the tenth round, the scores were very close across all the teams, with two schools tied in first place, necessitating the need for a tie-breaker.
"We look forward to another quiz in the Spring of 2024."
Following the tie-breaker round, Noremarsh Junior School emerged victorious, beating Broad Hinton School by one point.
The Rotary Club's president Linda presented each winner with a book token for £20 and each runner up with a £10 book token. The Noremarsh quiz team also won a trophy for their school.
All participants from all schools will be receiving a certificate for taking part, in due course.
Linda later took the opportunity to thank the organising team for the quiz event, the schools that took part, and the audience, for their support. She also spoke about the wider Rotary organisation and its activities locally, nationally and worldwide.
The participating schools were Noremarsh, Broad Town, Broad Hinton, Longleaze, St Bartholomew's and St Mary's.
