Royal Wootton Bassett Rotary Club will be holding its 24th charity metal detection rally this autumn.

The rally will be held on the land north of the M4, close to Malmesbury, on Sunday 10 October.

The Rotary Club said 130-plus acres of grass ley had been cultivated in the last three to five years, with a further 150 acres of maize stubble available if the growing season permits.

The car park will open from 8am with the metal detecting beginning at 10am.

Tickets will cost £20 per detectorist in advance or £25 on the day. Tickets are numbered for entry to a prize draw.

Requests for tickets can be sent to [email protected] with the email subject 'Rotary MDR'. Members of the public must include their mobile phone number. Tickets and directions will be returned via email.

Ticket requests can be made by post to Phil Tanner MDR, 7D The Steadings, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wilts, SN4 8BD.

Payment can be made via a transfer to the sort code 30-92-93 and account number 661 262 68. The reference should be MDR with the individual's surname. A cheque option is available and can be made out to 'Rotary Club of RWB&D Trust Fund.'

An 'all day breakfast' food option will be on sale from 8.30am with other refreshments, trade stands and a tombola also available.

The club says camping can be arranged on request and there will be a toilet block available.

All proceeds will go to charities supported by the club and the farmer of the land.
