Parents and carers in Royal Wootton Bassett can take advantage of free training in paediatric first aid being organised by occupational health and safety business, Safewell Ltd, this month.

Safewell Ltd will be running two training sessions for adults in basic first aid for babies, infants and children.

The sessions will take place on Friday 24 March and will run from 9.30am and 1pm, with each session lasting around two and a half hours.

Attendees will be trained at Safewell's premises in Templars Way Industrial Estate, Royal Wootton Bassett.

This opportunity follows a previous successful day of free training in January, when 30 members of the local community learned skills in the business' adult CPR/defibrillator deployment.

Nick Evans, Safewell’s managing director said: “First aid is an important life-skill, and we are pleased to be able to offer another chance for people to gain the skills and confidence to act quickly in an emergency, this time with infants and children.”

Delivered by a qualified and experienced instructor, the training will cover how to respond in the event of an unconscious child, recovery position, CPR/defibrillator, and choking.

Those interested in attending are asked to email [email protected] or call 01793 852951 to reserve a place.
