Santa Claus has called emergency pre-Yuletide talks with a housebuilder to address an important festive question.
How will he deliver presents to children in new build homes without chimneys?
Barratt David Wilson Homes South West constructs homes without traditional chimneys, and its developments include Orchards Rise at Wichelstowe and Honeymans Helm near Highworth town centre.
To put children’s minds at ease, Santa held special ‘no chimney’ talks with the construction team, where they came up with a plan so he can make his special gift deliveries.
Father Christmas, said: “Barratt David Wilson Homes South West’s ho-ho-homes are wonderful, but I wanted to double-check that I could still deliver presents to properties without a chimney.
"After speaking to the team I needn’t have worried. I can confirm everything is sorted and a special plan has been put in place. The children of Wiltshire can sleep soundly in their beds on Christmas Eve knowing I’ll visit as usual - if they’re on the good list of course!”
Mark Hughes, construction director at Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, added: “Although our modern, energy efficient homes are built without chimneys, there are several ‘top secret’ ways only Santa can gain entry.
"We’re glad to have put Mr Claus’ concerns to rest and he left for the North Pole happy, safe in the knowledge that all our younger residents in Wiltshire will wake up to their presents on Christmas morning.”
