Swindon Borough Council say the town will see a relaunch of the night-out safety initiative 'Ask For Angela', with a free training course on offer.
The council say people in Swindon that are feeling unsafe on a night-out can approach venue staff and ask them for ‘Angela’.
This code-phrase will indicate that an individual needs support and a trained member of staff will come and help them.
Those who work in the licensing or hospitality industry in Swindon can take advantage of free Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) training at MECA on Thursday 23 June, between 9am - 1pm.
The training is being provided by Swindon Community Safety Partnership and is funded through the Safer Streets scheme.
The council says there is still time to sign up for the training on Thursday.
