The Transitions Roadshow 2022 will be aimed at parents, carers and professionals who support young people (14 and over) with additional needs.

STEP Swindon, Swindon SEND Families Voice, Swindon Carers Centre, GWH and Swindon Borough Council are all coming together to host this year's Transitions Roadshow: Preparing for Adulthood.

The organisations recognise as young people grow and begin to prepare for adulthood, there is a lot to think about, especially for those who rely on additional support.

The various organisations say preparing for adulthood can start around age 14, and includes thinking about good health, independent living, social life, family and friendships, employment, education and training.

On Wednesday, 15 June, the annual Transitions Roadshow, for parents, carers and professionals who support young people aged 14 and above with additional needs, is being held.

Over 40 stall holders will be in attendance to provide information and advice, and the chance to find out what services and opportunities are available to support young people as they prepare for adult life.

The organisations taking part represent employment, training and volunteering, education and social care, health, voluntary sector services, community and sports activities, and others.

The event is free and there is no need to book in advance.
