The deadline for primary and junior school applications in the Borough of Swindon is fast approaching.
Parents and guardians have until Saturday, 15 January to make sure the relevant information is submitted.
The council is in the midst of its annual drive to make sure applications are in on time.
A spokesperson said: "If your child is due to start primary or junior school this September, make sure you get their school application in if you haven't already.
"Any applications received after the national deadline has passed, will be considered after all other applicants have been allocated their spaces."
The council says most children begin their school careers at the start of the academic year which follows their fourth birthday, and must start school by the term following their fifth birthday - unless they are to be educated at home.
Primary and infant school places for September of this year are open to children born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, while junior school place are available for those born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015.
People whose children attend an infant school must apply for a junior school place, and the council advises that children do not automatically qualify for a junior school place if they attend the related infant school.
