The breast screening team at Swindon's Great Western Hospital say those invited should save the date as it might save their life.
Regular breast screening is one of the best ways to spot a cancer that is too small for a person to feel or see, and saves around 1,300 lives each year in the UK.
A GWH spokesperson said: "Our breast team are encouraging any women who have been invited for a breast screen to get booked in, as finding cancer earlier makes it more likely that treatment will be successful.
"In fact, 8,500 people in Swindon last year were invited for a breast screen but didn't take up the appointment offer.
"So when you're invited, save the date, it could save your life."
